Use a search engine to find companies that will sell you merchandise for resale. You might also try using a local method such as garage and estate sales. I know many individuals that make a significant income by reselling collectibles and other merchandise purchased at garage sales. Remember, it's true that someone's trash is another's treasure!

The final step in researching your potential business is to see what prices the products you've selected are actually selling for in the marketplace. I'll use Ebay as an example because this site is so well known. Do a search for one of the products you hope to sell. Depending upon the competition and average sales prices you can decide whether or not the product you've selected is appropriate. This is why it's a great idea to select a niche market that you're familiar with. You already know the general price of items in the market.
